Flowers blooming in slow motion never get old and this video clearly illustrates the reason why this is true.
Japanese artist Yoshiyuki Katayama’s new short film, “Unwelt,” depicts a series of gracious flowers blooming in slow motion. What sets this time-lapse video apart from the rest is that each flower is accompanied by an insect or spider making its way across each flower. Each insect and/or spider was handpicked based on its characteristics. To fill the audience in on the selection process, Katayama created a small website.
Recently, Unwelt’s vertically oriented version won the third prize at the 2nd Vertical Film Festival in Australia. Check it out below!
