Shelter at 50 – how one young photographer put the 60s housing crisis in focus

In 1968, Nick Hedges was asked by Shelter to photograph some of the families living in Britain’s slums. Here, he discusses how he documented the housing crisis as part of a five year project and helped communicate the first concerns of the charity.

Collage + GIF by Kelly Maker

Kelly Maker is a photographer and artist based in Melbourne, Australia.

Entirely self taught, Kelly has cultivated a unique and recognisable form of digital manipulation she calls 'edits'. Her work encompasses a collage style, made by hand and digitally, she has worked for various companies and influencers to create eye catching content, launching her into the art scene of Australia and abroad in under a year.

Her photography works both on it's own, and in conjunction with her art. Utilising digital and 35mm photography, Kelly finds inspiration in everyday life, aiming to capture her subject in a unique way, focusing on whats within and without, understanding that the model is both human and a work of art, waiting to be dressed up or dressed down, understood or confused through the lens.
As Kelly moves forward with her work, she welcomes collaborations from anyone with an idea waiting to be captured or created.
With aspirations to expand her photography portfolio and focus more on limiting her collage to only her own images, expect to see much more of her work in the future.

3D Sculptures of Pablo Picasso Painting

MIMIC
Self Initiated Project  by
CRSTUDIO - OMARAQIL

Background
MIMIC is a series of new visual experiments using art from the past. In this project I have randomly picked 6 paintings from the Pablo Picasso’s (One of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century) work and recreate them into modern 3D visuals. In this visual mimicry I have shown, how the skill responds when it come across the complexity of someone’s thought and how the meanings of the shapes and forms have been changed and create new physical qualities. It’s propose to give a new implication of Picasso’s artworks with a series of hyper-realistic visuals. I am trying to explore more to his geometric forms.

It’s really difficult to me to recreate the artwork of Pablo Picasso. I have been studying his artworks since I have started my career, his abstract visual language always inspired me and I have found new forms interacting with each other.

"Every shape has an invisible dots find them and create in a new way."

Illustrations : Sébastien Plassard

Let yourself be carried away into a world of mind-blowing dreamscapes created by Sébastien Plassard.

Sébastien Plassard is an outstanding illustrator whose style is characterized by a reduced use of contrasting and complementary colors as well as dreamlike scenarios, which quickly draw the viewer into a surreal world. He skillfully combines influences from the golden age of the 1920s with contemporary graphic trends. His distinctive work could be seen in a wide range of publications such as magazines, books, posters, etc. Get more information below.
Each new artwork starts with a rough drawing on paper, while all fine works including coloring and texturing are made with the computer. With a sense of balance between shapes and colors, Sébastien Plassard’s illustrative work conveys depth and a distinctive tension. Illustrated with this touch of graphic perfection, his scenes transform everyday events into surreal dreamscapes filled with lots of contradictions. This fascinating blend between movement and stillness results in an almost poetic atmosphere. Check out more of his work below or follow this talented illustrator on Instagram and Tumblr.
