SUSI SIE (1982) is a Berlin-based artist whose work moves between the fields of art and science. She is on a mission to explore the physical and mathematical nature of unusual forms, substances and materials to show the hidden beauty and magic of our natural world that constantly surrounds us. Strictly applying analog techniques and refusing any computer animations or effects, Susi Sie’s haptic and detailed work is above all a highly personal study of the genuineness, perception and authenticity of things. Susi Sie’s work has been featured by internationally renowned online platforms such as Fubiz, Gizmodo, The Creators Project, This Is Colossal, Motionographer and Arte Creative, has been exhibited around the globe (New York, London, Paris, Rome, Sao Paulo, Norway) and won several Vimeo Staff Picks and awards at international film festivals. She studied video art in Maastricht (2002-2006) and worked in a Cologne-based post production agency (2006-2011).
Since 2011 she works as a freelance director, DoP and editor. She does what she loves. And loves what she does.

Pictures of Hong Kong in the 1950s

Animade and KK Outlet create an interactive A-Z of modern London

Animation studio Animade and KK Outlet have teamed up to create an interactive A-Z of modern London for hotel chain Citizen M. The collaboration has seen the creation of 26 irreverent and cheeky animations of the “most iconic, lovable and annoying things” about the capital.
Clicking on any key will cause an animated short to pop up covering everything from greedy City bankers to artisan coffee, grime nights and dodgy chicken shops.
“Like the best of British humour it’s self-depreciative and irreverent and manages to include the favourite topic of British conversation – the weather,” say the creators.

Michael Massaia is a fine art Photographer and Printmaker who has spent the past nine years documenting areas and objects that never extend to far from his front door. Isolation, disconnection, and an attempt to put a spotlight on the ordinary are the constant in all of his work.  He focuses, primarily, on large format, black and white film, utilizing a variety of highly modified proprietary analog and digital printing techniques.  Michael works alone and is the sole craftsman from the instant the negative is exposed to the moment the final print is made.
